Thinks No Longer

Some years ago I used to drop by a website with java wordsearch games and things like that, it was called Thinks.com (link from web archive snapshot) Today I randomly remembered it and decided to drop by to see how it was doing, and it would appear to have been taken over by some sort of German product design company. This kind of adds to my web gaming woes, as I’ve been having assorted gremlins with other sites (mostly flash based) ever since switching to Windows 10 and the latest versions of Google Chrome last year. There is a web games section here on AlltheInterweb that I never really got

AlltheInterweb – Updates for March to May 2018

I’ve been kind of busy making tweaks to the site over this period of time, mostly trying to make long awaited additions & changes to the web directory that I’d been putting off for too long. I’ve retired some categories, added some new ones in their place (and some just new), and added a shedload of new links to the directory. Some of the new additions include: UK Accountants UK Car Insurance Australian Car Insurance Get Out of Debt San Francisco Real Estate San Diego Real Estate Fresno Real Estate Philadelphia Real Estate I’ve also repaired & updated the UK Politics + US Politics sections of the web directory as

AlltheInterweb Goes Virtual…..

Since the Summer of 2017 (about end of June, I think) the site has started to make it’s presence felt on the old online virtual world known as “Second Life” in the form of a patch of land and some store rentals to experiment with affiliate sales on there. I even created a Subsite on AlltheInterweb to support it, which you can find by CLICKING HERE. The experiment with the patch of land could be going better, as neighbouring land owners who came onto the patches of land next to mine have totally f***ed-up the view from my patch that spurred me to buy the damn place. The experiment with

How to make money online by blogging

If you’re reading this, you may already know what a blog is. If not, then a blog can be used to write a personal diary or as a platform to write online articles similar to the kind of thing that’ve been appearing in Newspapers & Magazines for years. Many people do this, and don’t earn s***, probably because they aren’t that fussed about earning from their blog, but in other cases they just don’t really know how to do it properly, or they just don’t put the effort in. There are other people who do this, who claim to make $1000’s doing it, and even write books to boast about

This “Instagram” app is starting to annoy me…

The way the Instagram app is now is kind of annoying me. When I first put it on my newer phone (Nokia Windows 8.1 thingy), the stuff people I followed posted popped up on the front page as they posted it. Now they seem to have changed it to show hi-lighted stuff that’s like “1 day ago” “1 Week ago”, “4 days ago”, etc….. it’d be faster to keep up with what they’re doing if they took a polaroid instant print and sent it to me via carrier pigeon. Too much of a pain in the butt to go to individual profiles to keep up (Especially if like me you

Nokia Lumia 530 – Quick review

I bought one of these things last year, as my old iPhone 3GS had run into a few technical gremlins that were starting to piss me off. For starters the sound had quit working when it rang + the power button had fallen off. Also I couldn’t use the latest Apps on it ‘cos of the age of the OS on it. When I bought it, the Nokia Lumia 530 was still selling for around £69, but could be picked up for around £40 if you weren’t too fussy about the case colour. I largely bought it ‘cos of the price + I thought the Windows interface looked craploads better

How to use AlltheInterweb Pixels to promote your website

This part of our site is ideal for promoting your website via banner / link exchange by posting it to one of our grids, and is based on the Million Dollar Homepage, a Pixel Advertising website created by Alex Tew a number of years back. How to get started Youtubing

This popular video site sharing website has been around for over 10 years now, and gone from short crappy quality clips of pets & people doing the sort of stuff you’d see on You’ve Been Framed, to High quality HD footage of the same stuff + even people having a crack at doing their own “Online TV Shows”. These range from things like Tech Reviews to DIY Electronics + Prank Shows, some of which are better than mainstream shows like Beadle’s About or Candid Camera managed to pull off. There seems to be more & more people wanting to have a crack at it (not just because you can earn money

Vine sucks

Vine is a social media site for posting short vids from your mobile devices. I’ve decided I absolutely hate it with a passion you cannot imagine based purely on the fact the videos immediately AutoPlay, complete with sound, which is “seriously awks” when randomly looking through it via your WindowsPhone from bed, forgetting where the volume is set to: Resulting in a mini heart attack as you’re subjected to a loud burst of shit music you cant get out of your fucking head (followed by a pissy mood because this happened. Seriously, if you want to post vids online, stick to Youtube. Did you like this?Tip admin-jduck1979 with Cryptocurrency Bitcoin Ethereum

USB Desk fans

Well it’s Summertime once again, and that usually means hot weather. When you’re stuck at the computer there’s no better way to do it comfortably than to have a fan (except maybe having air conditioning), but what if you don’t have a free electrical socket, or your boss is a bit narky about energy usage? No sweat, as the USB port on your computer can also be used as a power outlet as well as for data transfer, and hence the invention of desk fans you can plug into a spare USB socket. The one I use is currently no longer available, but there are loads of others to choose
